Four Winds Chocolate comes from a long-held love with all things delicious. Wendy Ashwin (melter, creator and founder) has been collecting books on baking, pastry and sweets for decades, pouring over the pages of her favourite bakeries, patisseries and chocolatiers the world over. After making countless birthday cakes for daughter Ellen, she started with small commisions for friends, markets, then a cafe, a winery, a shop and some other local businesses before deciding to start her very own business, label and now shop. 

“I’m a professionally trained chocolatier but I call myself a melter and creator because that is really what I do.. I melt chocolate and craft it into something I hope others will enjoy.  It’s exciting to rework a filling many times until I create a chocolate just as I had imagined. I hope it is something I can share with more people...I hope to both surprise and comfort you with the many flavours and textures that chocolates can bring.” 

After travelling around Europe to all our favourite chocolate and patisserie stores, the Four Winds family returned to South Australia to open our first shop in May, 2015. Thanks to a (very) supportive community (clearly mostly sweet-tooths), we're still happily here. 

Why Four Winds? Our shop is named after our beloved family home in Willunga - an 1800's old stone cottage/farm house named 'Four Winds' after it's hometown - windy Willunga!

At Four Winds, we craft chocolates, cakes and patisserie from our home base in the coastal town of Willunga on the Fleurieu Peninsula (South Australia). Our shop is only open on weekends with fresh-made weekly patisserie products and our ever-developing chocolate range. We also sell to local wineries and cafes.
